Burial Costs

Costs are similar to other Scottish green burial sites so that people do not choose this site for the wrong reasons. They are also in line with the Moray Council fees for a burial in the local area. The Hinterland Trust is a registered charity  the money for the lair and maintenance  goes towards the grave digging and long term care and maintenance of the whole burial area and surrounding area, and is there directly to help with the conservation and management of the Hinterland.

Cost of a single lair including interment fees and maintenance

Cost for internment of ashes including a small tree
(from April 20th 2017)      £198

NB: Additional charges for burials to take place on Saturday £395 / Sunday £795
Public holidays are charged as Sunday rates

A Funeral Co-ordination fee of £500 is required to be paid separately at the time of the funeral.

Outside Funeral Director costs are an additional fee charge directly to the family from them.
