Burial Costs

Our combined fees for lairs and interment are the same as Moray Council charges although the split of these fees differs  to the council. The Hinterland Trust is a registered charity and the monies for the lair and interment fees  goes towards the grave digging and long term care and maintenance of the whole green burial area and surrounding land and is there directly to help with the conservation and land management of the Hinterland.

Cost of a single lair (can be paid in advance) £1539
Interment Fee (only payable at time of Funeral) £200
(Fees as of 1st June  2020)

N.B. Additional charges for burials taking place on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays £400

A Funeral Co-ordination fee of £550 is required and to be paid at the time of the funeral.

Any Funeral Directors fees are an additional cost and they are charged directly to the client.

Cost for cremated remains being interned in the Eileen Caddy Memorial Wood are £248 which also includes a small tree.

Note: Those in financial need who are looking at how to pay for a funeral for their relative or friend could possibly get help through the UK government Funeral Fund – follow this link for more details.
