Get involved with the beautiful wild nature on your doorstep!  If you enjoy spending time in the Findhorn Hinterland please consider becoming a member of the Findhorn Hinterland Trust and contributing to its continued health and vitality.

The beauty of this land is the result of the hard work of many people working behind the scenes – managing the trees, the gorse, the lichen beds, the green burial site and monitoring the biodiversity of this stunning ecosystem.

Our members are an important piece of the puzzle – your support allows more positive physical regeneration to happen on this complex and important piece of land; as well as providing us with a greater chance of success in attracting funds for the projects that we wish to carry out.

Membership is available on a sliding fee scale, so that nobody is excluded from becoming a member. Donations towards the work of the trust are also very welcome and much appreciated. When you become a member you will also receive our regular newsletter with updates about what is happening in the Hinterland.

Work parties are a great way to learn more about the Findhorn Hinterland while caring for it. Join a work party and you will deepen your knowledge of local ecology, pick up some land stewardship skills and develop friendships and a sense of local community; as well as getting outside for a bit of exercise in a fun way.  No matter what your personal level of fitness or ability, there will always be a wide variety of meaningful tasks for everyone.

Join us every month, 9.30 am to 12 noon on the last Saturday of the month.  We meet at the Hinterland Information Point in Wilkies Wood – that’s the blue dot marked “I” on the Click here to see an enlarged version of the map.

Tools and gloves are provided, if you have your own bring them along.

Every Wednesday at 2 pm from the 1st of March to the 31st of October there’s a guided tour of the hinterland. It includes the woods, grasslands, turbines, ponds, lichen beds, shelter, green burial, dunes etc.

The Trustees of the Findhorn Hinterland Trust meet every two months.  Observers are always welcome to attend, and we are always looking for new trustees to join us.  If you are interested in offering your skills in support of the care of this beautiful landscape, please email [email protected] to discuss this possibility further.
